Denali to Kenai Pennisula Chugach National Park Tenderfoot Creek on Summit Lake

Off to the Kenai Peninsula north of Anchorage.

City Diner in Anchorage we ate there in 2008, 50's style diner, no place to park so we moved on.

Down the Turnagan road south of Anchorage.

Turnagan Arm road, runs along the water for 30 miles to Portage, Whittier and the Kenai Peninsula.

Turnagan Arm where the Beluga Whales are spotted.

Almost to Portage end of Turnagan Arm

Headed down the Kenai raining.

More window views of mountains at Tenderfoot Creek

Life size Bonsai Tenderfoot Creek

Set up in the woods for the night at Tenderfoot Creek, the Trek really comes thru even in the remote small tight parks like this one.
Aug. 16, 2012 Today we drove from south of Denali to the Kenai Peninsula and stopped at the Tenderfoot Creek camping area of the Chugach National Park. A nice place tucked away in the mountains very private, quit and peaceful. Rained all day but still there were beautiful views of the mountains and the Turnagan Arm a bay south of anchorage divides the main land and the peninsula. Beluga whales frequent this area feeding but we did not see any today. These are pacific Beluga's not the same as Artic Beluga's Russian caviar fame.
