Montana: Mountains, Horses, Vast Land, Yuppies :-( and Rattle Snakes

Crazy Mountains
Mountain Pass South of Great Falls
Beautiful Rock Formations

Another long day about 300 miles, winds were strong, thru the rv all over the road. We're over 2,200 miles now. (Montana miles are a lot longer than normal miles). We have to eat all our meat before Canada, can't cross the border with it, so its steak or hamburgs and eggs for breakfast, hamburgs for lunch and shish-kabob or spiedis for supper, what a shame. Signs for rattle snakes all over, need to watch where you walk. We are staying in Uncle Dick's RV Camp, its huge last stop before Canada.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park North Dakota

Bad Lands in the Southern End of the Park

More Bad Lands

Stayed in Valley City, North Dakota last evening. Bill added Summit Extra Pale Ale, to ales tried, could be called an IPA. So far Fitger's El nino IPA on draw Duluth, Odell's IPA Duluth, Grandma's Pale Ale Duluth, potential to be an IPA and Summit Extra Pale Ale, turning out to be a good beer run. Nice cheap RV Park with all the amenities Valley City. Today in church we learned of the evils of celebrating with drink of college students, looks like Bill's trying to figure where he went wrong. To-nite we are in Medora ND near Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Looks like we are in a valley of the Badlands, beautiful.

Duluth Minnesota

Grandma's Duluth, at Canal Park this used to be the Outside of the Building when Bill worked in Duluth Thirty Years ago, now it's a huge restaurant expanded in every direction.
Odell's a fine IPA
Grandma
Iron Ore Freighter Duluth

Had a good time in Duluth, ate in a few good restaurants, had beer battered french fries and had some good desserts, saw the city, met some nice people and straightened out some business. Have a new phone with better service and got somethings for the rv (more work for Bill).

Ishpeming - Da Yoopers Tourist Trap

Bill made a new friend, a local Yooper.

Can I buy it?
This one was sold already.
Looks like something Bill and Wally would make (3 snow blowers welded together for those UP winters).
It was a great day at the YOOPER tourist trap. Bill learned a lot. He can't wait to get home and try some new ideas out. We'll keep you posted. 1,034 miles down only 4-5 thousand more to Alaska.

Mackinac Bridge Lower to Upper Peninsula Michigan

Legs Inn a Polish Restaurant in Cross Village Michigan
Great Kielbasa

 Great Friends

It's our 5th day on the road.  We're still in Michigan--St. Ignace just into the UP to be exact--and still getting our act together while trying to sightsee, too.  Biggest problem, other than mechanicals, seems to be spotty internet & phone service, so be patient about waiting for posts & pictures, please.
